Codes and Frequencies
ORIGN2CA records the second distinct response to self-reported ethnic origin. This variable is the only way to identify black persons (usually "African") or indigenous persons ("Indian" or often a specific tribe is given).
Researchers interested in comparisons with the United States should examine the codes for this variable in conjunction with the RACE variable.
Only 2,147 people had two or more origins, approximately 0.1% of the population.
