Description

HEADLOC is a constructed variable that indicates whether a household head is present in the sample using and, if so, gives the person number of the head of household in samples organized into households.

Comparability

This variable is not available in the 1852, 1871, and 1881 censuses of Canada and the Mecklenburg-Schwerin census of 1819, which contain no information on relationship to household head.
